I purchased this table because the price is right and there were three other five-star reviews. I guess previous customers must have gotten a better-quality table, because the one they sent me is nothing more than cardboard masquerading as a table. Though the top of the table is indeed made of varnished plywood, the rest of the piece is nothing but particle board. Even the bottom shelf is made of particle board. We went to assemble it by screwing the bottom shelf to the legs, and the shelf just disintegrated. That's what cheap pressed board does. I'm shocked and dismayed by the horrible quality of this product. You're better off spending more on a table that will actually last more than 10 minutes.
I bought this table thinking it would be a cheap solution to having a table next to the couch, so my husband would have somewhere to put his drink besides my floor! I was completely surprised to find how gorgeous this table is The color is beautiful and blends great with both the cherrywood and espresso colored wood in my house. The table is very sturdy and solid wood - not a piece of particle board to be found. I assembled this in literally less than 10 minutes. There are 4 bolts and 4 screws. It sounds like that would be enough to hold it together but it's incredibly solid. Buy this table...you won't regret it! :)
